Mining Trip ReportsThese pages describe some of the trips to old mines and slate caverns undertaken by members of the group. Please remember that exploring old mines can be very hazardous and should only be undertaken by properly equipped and experienced individuals. These pages are provided for general interest (and armchair cavers), the information contained therein is not definitive and it should be remembered that mine deterioration is an ongoing process which is hastened by heavy rain or earth tremors. THIS MEANS THAT A TRIP WE DID IN THE PAST MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE NOW OR MAY BE MORE HAZARDOUS If you are planning to explore old mines please remember that the safety of you and your party is entirely your responsibility. Don't blame us or haunt us if you or any of your party are maimed or die! Most mines have at least some rudimentary barriers to stop the general public and especially children getting in and killing themselves. Be aware of this and make sure anything which moves is put back carefully on leaving :-) |
